Our Fun "Ice Day" at Home

Well, yesterday, the kids were excited to wake up and find out that school had been cancelled for the day! We had experienced an ice storm (not really a storm, but enough to do the trick) the night before & were hoping this would be the case!!! On days like yesterday, I am reminded how blessed and fortunate I am to be able to be at home during the day. I know it is a privilege, and I think I need days like yesterday to remind me to never take it for granted! We had a great day. We packed a lot into it....we wrapped presents for our trip to Arkansas this week, we made Christmas cookies for our Bible classes, I did laundry (okay, it wasn't ALL fun and games), we played games and wrote letters to Santa, I did laundry....
Kinlee just bought herself a bucket of "fuse beads" the day before our ice day. So, as you can see above, THAT is what Kinlee did most of the day. Anyone she knows with a first name initial - well, they will be getting a handmade ornament this year!!!! She had a blast. I think she ended up making 23 in all!!!

Last night after supper, we all piled up on the couch to watch some Christmas movies that were coming on TV. I think we ended up watching Winnie the Pooh Christmas, and 2 Charlie Brown Christmas movies. A great end to our fun day.

To top it off, as the kids were getting ready to take baths last night after the movies, I heard Parker struggling in the bathroom. I walked in to find this, along with Parker saying, "Mom, I need major modifications!!!" After a little bit of work, we finally got it off - I think I'll be making some "major modifications" to the sweatshirt before we put that one on again - I thought he was giong to have to wear it to bed!!! Anyway, we had a great day together - oh yeah, did I mention that I did laundry???!!!........
