Let the Games Begin.....

Well, the little people went back to school today. I can't believe that I have a 2nd and 4th grader!!!! Where does the time go?? I have to admit I had a little bit of a lump in my throat today as I took them back. I guess I didn't hide it to well, either, because before we left, I was sitting on the couch visiting with Kinlee for a minute, and she said, "What's the.....are you okay.....you don't look like you feel good....are you gonna cry??" :) I'm gonna miss them around here during the day. I guess part of me is kind of ready to get "back in the swing of things", but I sure have enjoyed our summer as a family!!!
A couple of days ago, we decided we needed one more "blow out" before school started. (By the way, we have been milking this "last one of the summer" thing to death - one last blow out of the summer, one last lunch out together, one last ice cream night, etc..... ) So, the kids each got to have a friend over, and they had a great time. Above, you can see that we moved all the furniture to the walls in the living room, and they all played indoor baseball and volleyball. It got a little loud, but they had a blast!!! AND, nothing got broken - a bonus, for sure!! We also went bike riding, but I didn't get any pictures of that - forgot the camera :(.
For lunch, the kids each made their own pizzas. They were yummy, too (I had a piece of Parker's). I had to laugh at the detail and concentration that the girls put into their pizzas (top picture) versus the boys who slapped it on and were off to hit a few more balls before lunch (bottom picture)!! They all seemed happy with the outcome, though, so I guess all was well....

SO, stay tuned for new and exciting "school year" posts - I can't wait to read yours.....
