Am I Ready for This???

For years, I've heard this terrible rumor that little boys eventually start to grow up. As those little boys start to grow up, they start to notice girls. As those little boys start to notice girls, they kind of begin to like what they see. We are there! I am a little bit in denial, but all in all, I am handling it okay, I think. (Depends on the day :)) This past weekend, Parker and his "friend that's a girl" (won't let him officially call him is "girlfriend" - again, I'm in denial) attended their first skating party together. He was excited all week long and couldn't wait to "couple skate".
As you can see....couple skate they did! He told me that they had to keep switching sides because their hands kept getting "sweaty". I had to laugh at that one. All kidding aside, Lexy is very sweet, and they are really cute together. She has gone to church with us a couple of times, and I am proud of Parker for inviting her. I had to laugh at this note that he passed me during church on Sunday, though. You see, the "sirmon" was entitled, "Give Love to Get Love":
So, for now, I will continue to be in denial, but also try to enjoy this next stage in our lives. Check with me tomorrow, though, and I'll let you know how I'm doing. Today, though, it's all good :)!

In answer to you quesiton "Am I Ready for This?" Nope. You aren't. I miss my "big" boys who used to stop on the steps of the schoolhouse and turn to wave and tell me(yell) they loved me. I am thankful for Seth who still does (although his is in sigh language so I am thinking it might last a little longer..lol). Take a deep breath and just get ready. They grow up and we are ever so blessed to be part of it. I decided a long time ago to love every moment. I smiled looking at your pictures. In spite of the heartwrenching you are doing exactly what a mom must do...adapt:) Blessings!!

Too funny!! So cute though. I remember "couple skate". I don't remember the boy but I do remember wondering about my sweaty hands!! Parker's note about the "Sirmon" is great! Shows too that he was paying attention! :)
