Happy New Year, Everybody!!!

While we were finishing up our time in Mississippi on Tuesday, Mark and I got this wild idea that we should invite a few church buddies over after services Wed. night for food, fun, and games. (Okay, truth be known, we made a few calls to see if anyone else had decided to volunteer, and after nada responses, we figured our house would be just as good as any!!) We had a blast! After several last minute calls, we ended up with 5 families and LOTS of laughs! We kept it simple - everyone brought food, we played games, some watched football, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to ring in the New Year. Above are some of the pictures of the night. I learned how to play "Spoons" for the first time tonight - after a few spells of "beginner's luck", I finally had to stop - my nerves were shot!!! Don't we look so serious?!

Above is a picture of us playing a game called "Edgewise" that was actually developed by a family from church. It is so much fun! They are currently in the process of trying to get it patented and distributed - be on the look out at Target and Cracker Barrel - you WILL see it someday soon!!! It will definitely be worth the $$!

Remember how I am always looking for cheap entertainment?? Well, I believe this one takes the cake! For those of you who keep up with my blog on a regular basis, you will remember a certain wedding that we attended a few weeks ago. When the bride and groom left, everyone pulled the trigger on some really cool "streamer canisters". WELL........when it was all said and done, we snatched a couple extras to reserve for New Year's Eve. Tonight was the night. As you can see above, the kids had a blast with them. It was WAY more fun for them than I had imagined - an added bonus, for sure!!!

All in all, we had a great time! It was so nice to be with friends who have the same goal - loving God and raising our children to do the same. Thanks again, guys - we had a blast!!

Oh yeah.........One more thing, JILL - I found this in my trashcan after you left - I thought you were GREEN!!! I am SO disappointed!!!:))))

LOL!!! I never said I was green- but if someone just plain asked me like they did you- I might be very tempted to say- Oh, yes we do, just leave it on the counter, our recycle bin is full right now. LOL!
Maybe that should be one of our New Years Resolutions since we got such a big kick out of it?? :)
