A couple of weekends ago (I am just now getting to blogging about it - how sad is that!?:(), Kinlee's Girl Scout troop headed to Jackson for an overnight trip with the profit they made off of Girl Scout cookie sales. There were 16 girls altogether, and 4 adults - I was asked to go along as one of the chaperones, and was very excited to spend the weekend with Kinlee.
Upon arriving in Jackson, the girls ate lunch at Burger King. I watched as Kinlee interacted with certain girls, and picked my 4 to be "in charge of" based on that. Luckily, they were all about Kinlee's age and not TOO wild :). After lunch, we went and played putt-putt golf and fed the fish on the course.
We also traveled to the hospital to deliver cookies to the Intensive Care waiting room. This was a very good experience for the girls, and the people were VERY appreciative - who wouldn't love FREE Girl Scout cookies?!
We went and ate supper at Ryan's (YUM!!) before heading back to the hotel for some swimming. When we got to the indoor pool, we were the only ones there - who in their right mind would want to share a pool with 16 squealing Girl Scouts?! They swam for quite a long time and had a blast!!
After swimming, it was off to the hotel rooms for facials, manicures and pedicures, and jumping on the beds!! Needless to say, when bedtime finally did roll around (I was beginning to wonder if it ever would), they were beat!!! It was a great weekend and we look forward to many more to come....
