We Love Friends Day!!!!!

Every Wednesday (with the exception of one here and there) has been dubbed "Friends Day" at the Finton house. On this day, the kids are allowed to each have a friend over for a couple of hours after school. As you can see in the pictures, they have so much fun! We take a trip to Sonic on the way home from school (they are allowed to order anything with a "clock" beside it - for fellow Sonic lovers, you know that means 1/2 price during Happy Hour!), we make chocolate chip cookies, and the girls even requested hot chocolate this time!!
The girls usually play in Kinlee's room, jump on the trampoline, and just do "girl" stuff. The boys can be found looking at and trading football cards, playing football, or chillin' out in front of the Nintendo. Whatever they are doing, they are having fun.
I also added a picture of our dog, Noodle. As you can probably tell from the pic., she is the one in the house that does NOT care for friends day. First of all, she doesn't get the attention from Kinlee that she is used to, and I think she thinks it's too loud around here. SO, she can usually be found hovering in the corner of the sunroom on her blanket, lonely and depressed, until everyone leaves around 5:00. Then, her day can go on as planned......
I am thankful that I am able to stay home and actually FEEL like having friends over for the kids. I always say that this is my contribution to the "working" moms out there. I remember when I taught school full-time - by the end of the school day, I didn't want to see another child, be touched by another child, or hear my name one more time; much less have a couple of kids over to the house that don't even belong to me!!!! My kids have really benefitted from Friends Day, too - it has been a great way, again, for them to meet kids in our new town. We love it!

Very cool. I like friends' day. Maybe I'll do that someday. I loved seeing Noodle too. I was wondering how big she was.
